Resolutions

OK now with the New Year over with, a lot of us get down to our resolutions.  We never know such determination as we plan to exercise get, up early, give up chocolate, write the book, learn the language, be more organised, change the diet, tidy the house, the garden, our office and take up knitting, rugby, sky diving and of course  be more slim.

That should do it no problem “is my list too big?” we ask “not at all, sure why would I not be able to achieve all these things and why have I not done so before?”

A week later we have failed to persist at any of our resolutions and we are eating chocolate, getting up late and watching too much telly.  What went wrong… is it that we are doomed to constantly fail or are we just not good enough?  Simple answer is we self sabotage!

We self sabotage when we try to take on too many resolutions, remember we did it last year as well and the year before that and the year before that.  Make your resolutions all right but do them one at a time; only when you have achieved the first one is it time to go onto the second one, you will get there one step at a time.

Pick an easy, short resolution first and then move up the challenge scale, you are  human and humans move one step at a time.

One step at a time

One step at a time
